Dreaming of a Destination Wedding in the Heart of the West

When you hear “destination wedding,” your mind might wander to the coastlines of California or the beaches of Mexico—but let’s talk about a region that’s full of magic, character, and wildly underrated beauty: the heart of the American West.

Think Colorado, Iowa, Utah, and all the incredible spaces in between. These states hold some of the most breathtaking, soul-stirring backdrops—and I’m so ready to document a wedding story there.

Mountain Views, Desert Light, and Rolling Fields

Each state in this region offers its own flavor of beauty:

  • Colorado gives us sweeping mountain views, alpine lakes, and forests that feel straight out of a dream. Whether it’s a mountaintop elopement in Estes Park or a cozy lodge wedding in Breckenridge, the landscapes are unreal year-round.

  • Utah brings that iconic desert energy—think red rocks, epic canyons, and golden-hour magic that feels cinematic. Moab, Zion, and even Salt Lake City are full of texture and color that just beg to be photographed.

  • Iowa may not be the first place people picture for a destination wedding, but its charm is undeniable. Rolling hills, lakeside venues, historic barns, and peaceful countryside make it the perfect spot for an intimate, meaningful day.

Why I’m Dreaming About These Places

As a documentary-style photographer who loves to work with natural light, emotion, and movement, these locations feel like a perfect fit. Whether you’re planning an intentional elopement or a big celebration with your people, there’s something so special about building your wedding day around a place that speaks to your soul.

Even though I haven’t photographed a wedding in this region yet, I’m eager and ready to travel. I bring both digital and 35mm film options, and I’m all about capturing your day in a way that feels real, relaxed, and totally you.

Let’s Tell Your Story Somewhere Wild

If you’re getting married in Colorado, Utah, Iowa—or anywhere in that stretch of the West—I would love to be there to capture every moment. Whether you’re hiking to your ceremony spot or dancing under string lights in the countryside, I’m here for the adventure.

Let’s create something beautiful together.
